Would you like to see your photograph exhibited during the South Devon AONB's 50th birthday celebrations, and have the chance to win a balloon flight over the area?
2010 is the year South Devon celebrates 50 years as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Designated by government in 1960 it is recognised as one of England's finest landscapes.
Please help us mark the occasion by entering our photography competition, showing why you think this area is so special. Only images taken within the AONB qualify, so please see the map to find out the area of South Devon that is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We would encourage you to delve beneath the surface and capture some scenes that are special to you avoiding the overdone and third images.
Take your camera wherever you go and capture your everyday life in a way which will inspire others and tell a little story with it to express what the image means to you and your life. What is everyday to you may be completely new to others.
The panel of three judges will be chaired by Roy Sims past Principal of Plymouth College of Art and Design.
There are three themed categories in which to enter:
Each category will have an under 16 section.
All photos to be captioned by photographer letting us know where and why you took them. Entries are limited to four per person.
Photos should have been taken since January 2007.
Following short listing the finalists will be featured in the local press and the public will vote for their favourite image in each category via this website. A selection of the entries will be used to form an exhibition at Harbour House in Kingsbridge as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations from 6th - 18th July 2010.
The closing date for entries is 30th April 2010.
Each of the section winners will also receive a fine art print of their image sponsored by King Print in Kingsbridge (12 x 16).
The overall winner will also receive a hot air balloon ride over South Devon AONB courtesy of Virgin balloons.
The prize winners will also be exhibited as part of a 50th anniversary exhibition at Harbour house Kingsbridge from 6th July - 18th July 2010.
