At this point, Mill Lane emerges from a shaded tunnel of trees and takes a right angle turn to run down beside a wood, giving a view of an open, sunlit saddle-shaped field and hills across the valley.

I love Mill Lane all the year round with its framed glimpses of the woods, hills and valleys of the South Hams Countryside. The late afternoon sun picking out the sheep made this picture for me.

Steam trains always hold a particular fascination for old and young, but this one is special because it takes passengers along the scenic lower Dart from Kingswear, although the station was historically across the river in Dartmouth.
