Many thanks to our three judges who have kindly given up their time to shortlist the best entries from each section:
Chairman: Roy Sims. FBIPP ARPS MBKS.
Roy has a wealth of experience. At the start of his career he has worked in Fleet Street, and later for the photography department of the BBC Research Department.
He moved to Modbury on taking up his appointment of Head of Photography at Plymouth College of Art and Design and was later appointed as Vice Principal (now retired).
He is an external examiner for Degree and BIPP PQE courses in photography, external examiner for Art and Design Foundation Courses, and a Member of the Royal Television Society ( Devon and Cornwall Centre.)

William R Milligan ABIPP ARPS
William has been engaged in professional photography all his working life starting in society and wedding photography in the late 1950s. He then spent a number of years in the photographic unit of the BBC's research department at a very innovative time in broadcasting and photography.
During his time at Plymouth College of Art and Design from the 1970s he introduced a unique underwater photography option which enabled graduates to find successful employment using their diving and photography skills.
The introduction of digital photography has enabled him to maintain his interesting recording the unique environment of South Devon. He has been a resident of the South Hams for 38 years and lives with his wife, Jan and Springer Spaniel Nell.
Clare Pawley
Clare Pawley has been living in the South Hams for thirty years, and has spent much of that time photographing it! She had a small postcard and greetings card business specialising in the less photographed parts of the AONB.
She was delighted to have been offered the chance to further photograph the area for the Countryside Agency, and thoroughly enjoyed her year doing that. She is very pleased to have been asked to judge the AONB's competition because she is keen to promote both new talent and the valuable work of the AONB, and is looking forward to seeing the entrants' interpretations of the Area.
She hopes that there will be plenty of great photographs and that it will be an excellent Exhibition.
